NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Greylock Community Club/Hoosac Valley Heating and Cooling scored five runs in the first inning and cruised to a 10-1 win over Firehouse Cafe on Monday to stay alive in the Pat Torchia North Adams Women's Softball League playoffs.
Greylock got three hits and an RBI from shortstop Laurie O'Neil and a 2-for-4 performance with a couple of runs scored from third baseman Kelsey Lemiere to advance in the loser's bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
Kris Vanuni struck out two and scattered five hits while getting error-free defense behind her.
Greylock was up 10-0 nothing after the fourth inning before Firehouse pushed one across on a pair of hits in the sixth.
The playoffs continue at DiSanti Field on Tuesday at 6 p.m.
