BOSTON — Pittsfield's Stephen Foley was the fastest Berkshire County finisher in Monday's 118th Boston Marathon.

 

Foley, 42, covered the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 1 minute, 53 seconds, which was good for 404th place in his division at the event, which drew 35,671 entrants.

 

Of the 31,805 finishers, Foley finished 2,663rd, according the website of the Boston Athletic Association, which organizes the race.

 

He was the 2,509th man across the finish line and one of 10 runners from Berkshire County to finish in fewer than four hours.

 

The event was won by American Meb Keflezighi, a native of Eritrea, who finished in 2:08:37. Kenya's Rita Jeptoo was the top female finisher, coming in 2:18:57.

 

Visually impaired runner May Jonas of Toronto, who was running with Williamstown's Dr. Jonathan Cluett, a volunteer guide with Achilles International, finished in 4:55:35.

 

Fifty-one visually impaired runners started the race, including 16 women. Forty-seven of those athletes (including all 16 visually impaired women) finished the course. Jonas, 51, was the eighth-fastest visually impaired runner

 

The top woman from Berkshire County on Monday was Lenox Dale's Cara Reilly, 29, who finished in 3:28:02. She was 1,810th among women finishing the race and 1,383rd in her division.

 

The second-fastest woman from the county was Williamstown's Elizabeth St. Clair, 55, in 3:46:05.

 

Lanesborough's David Wilson was the second-fastest Berkshire County man, finishing in 3:08:05.
