North Adams Census Forms on Way to Residents

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — City residents should be on lookout for their 2014 census, which is expected to arrive in residents' homes by Monday, Jan. 13.

Residents should simply review the information printed on the forms and, if there are no changes, sign the bottom of the form, and return it by mail or drop it off at the city clerk's office.

If someone has moved, it is helpful if the new address can be provided. Nursing home patients, students, and military should be listed on the form. Any corrections may be made on the form.

On the bottom is also the option of licensing your dog: Complete the form and include the fee along with proof of rabies and the office will mail the license to you.

The census is important to all residents in the community and everyone should be counted. It is very important that voting records are accurate and many times we are asked to prove someone is or has been a resident of North Adams, which without the census form it is impossible for us to do.

If you wish to call the office of the city clerk with the information, you may do so by calling 413-662-3000, Ext. 1.

This year, a survey for residents about their recreation and conservation interests is included with the census mailing. This survey will provide information for the city to plan and raise funds for its parks, trails and open spaces. The Office of Community Development is sponsoring the survey; direct all questions to them at 413-662-3000, Ext. 3025. The survey can also be completed online here.
