2012 marks the 16th year of North Adams' Annual Celebration. Main, Eagle, Holden, and the northern portion of Ashland Street will be closed to all but pedestrian traffic. Groups, businesses, and organizations will be distributing information and holding contests and giveaways while bands play everything from Dixieland to Rock and Roll. Delicious aromas will fill the air as local restaurants and vendors provide all kinds of wonderful food. This street fair is for all-ages and is sure to please! Bask in the sweet sounds of summer as the City of North Adams' Concerts at Windsor Lake series continues. This week enjoy music by Champagne Jam, a versatile musical trio with a repertoire of song selections including big band and commercial numbers, classic and modern country, golden oldies from the '50s and '60s, ballroom dance numbers, and timeless rock and roll favorites. Representatives from concert series sponsor Hoosac Bank will be in attendance, giving away assorted prizes and premium items and will hold a prize drawing
Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Food is available from Amy's Cafe on the Lake, but picnics are welcome. Limited quantities of beer and wine are allowed. Parking is free and swimming, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing are allowed at the lake.

This intensive 5-day workshop (13th-17th) might just be the remedy you are looking for to shake up your work, expand your scale, and forage into new realms of your work with a guide! This workshop's focus is on creating unique prints and exploring new and diverse methods of creating printing plates and interesting methods of inking them. With the ability to work on a very large scale, because of specialized equipment, the workshop will begin with smaller plates and explore exciting new techniques! For one evening only join a collaborative sonic disembodiment by Leah Rico and Ven Voisey. Seven low-wattage radio transmitters will be installed throughout the Greylock Monument tower at Mount Greylock, the highest point of elevation in the state of Massachusetts. Guests will be given a radio and asked to move throughout the tower to seek out the transmissions, each one simultaneously broadcasting a fragment of the composition. With the assistance of the radios, listeners become transmitters of sound and effect the composition depending on how they navigate the space. The air is impression without presence. The signal leaves a trace in the ether, guiding new songs to be sung. Meet at the base of the monument at 6pm promptly.

DownStreet Art artist, Joshua Field, has had his work selected by Daria de Beauvais, curator of the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, Europe's biggest contemporary art museum, to be exhibited on the Saatchi 100 Curators: 100 Days project, the largest online art exhibition created by the curators from the most prestigious museums and galleries in the world. Daria de Beauvais has worked at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice and the Venice Bienniale, and in New York at the Museum of Modern Art and Independent Curators International.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to spend time at the North Adams Tourist Booth on an as-needed basis. The booth is on Union Street, and is open 7 days a week from June-October from 10am-4pm. People who enjoyinteracting with the public and talking about the city are encouraged to join us. Duties include handing out brochures and directing visitors to meals, lodging and attractions.
