DownStreet Art Thursday returns on July 26th with 10 new exhibition openings,including Sean Riley at Gallery 51, Mark Mulherrin at Marshall Street Space, Local Color Revisited curated by Wendy James at her studio, and the TOY as ART group exhibition at the Jarvis Rockwell Gallery. There will be live music, performances by Bang on a Can, Main Street Stage, and the Minerva Art Center, and the unveiling of Maya Hayuk's mural on Center Street. Businesses will be open late with specials so come join the celebration from 6 to 9pm and don't miss the chance to visit DSA galleries throughout the summer. Galleries hours are Wed-Fri 12-6pm, Sat 10am-6pm, and Sun 10am-4pm. Stay tuned for full list of events.

Alec Gillman, DCR Interpretive Ranger at Mount Greylock State Reservation, presents an exploration of the mountain's history and nature. Discover connections between man's desire to shape the mountain and, at the same time, protect its wilderness.Fun facts and visions of the mountain will be revealed as you head on your way to becoming a true "Greylockophile." Event is taking place in the lobby of the beautiful Bascom Lodge. Don't forget about Sunset Beverage Hours from 5-7pm every Wednesday-Sunday evening.

Bask in the sweet sounds of summer as the City of North Adams' Concerts at Windsor Lake series continues. Opening to a crowd of over 200 last week, the series combines great music with the beautiful natural backdrop of Windsor Lake. This week is music by Tom Corrigan, a singer-songwriter, guitar player, and local favorite at such venues as Freight Yard Pub and The Red Lion Inn, Corrigan plays original compositions as well as tunes by Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, The Grateful Dead, and many more. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on and food but dinner and picnic specials will be available from Amy's Cafe on the Lake. Limited quantities of beer and wine are allowed. Parking is free and swimming, fishing, kayaking, and canoeing are allowed at the lake.

The Bang on a Can All-Stars return to MASS MoCA for the first time in five years with a new multimedia project featuring hot-off-the-presses new commissioned works by Tyondai Braxton, Mira Calix, Florent Ghys, Michael Gordon, David Lang, Christian Marclay, Todd Reynolds (performing live), Julia Wolfe, and Nick Zummuto (also performing live). These composers went into the field itself to find something old or record something new, and responded to what they found with their music, in a dialogue. All-Stars playing in concert include Ashley Bathgate, Vicky Chow, and David Cossin. Collaborators include Gregg August, Derek Johnson, Eileen Mack, Todd Reynolds, and Nick Zammuto.

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to spend time at the North Adams Tourist Booth on an as-needed basis. The booth is on Union Street, and is open 7 days a week from June-October from 10am-4pm. People who enjoy interacting with the public and talking about the city are encouraged to join us. Duties include handing out brochures and directing visitors to meals, lodging and attractions.
