The first DownStreet Art Last Thursday Celebration will feature exhibition openings at MCLA Gallery 51, The Jarvis Rockwell Gallery, NAACO Gallery, PRESS Gallery, The Artery Gallery, The Branch Gallery, and Gallery 107. There will be live performances and downtown businesses will be open late with specials. Look for the first of four murals to be unveiled at the DownStreet Art kick off night! The mural will be realized during the month of June by muralismo publico -a co-op of mural artists based in Spain- and it will be completed by June 28. The opening of the bus stop installation on Main Street by artist Victoria Palermo will also take place. This permanent installation is brought to downtown North Adams by Kidspace @ MASS MoCA. Get Down!

We are looking for dedicated volunteers to spend time at the North Adams Tourist Booth on an as-needed basis. The booth is on Union Street, and is open 7 days a week from June-October. People who enjoy interacting with the public and talking about the city are encouraged to join us. Duties include handing out brochures and directing visitors to meals, lodging and attractions.
