North Berkshire Solid Waste District Sets Paint Collections

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. — The Northern Berkshire Solid Waste Management District has set the dates for its spring paint collections.   

The Cheshire paint shed will be open on April 28, June 30, July 28 and Sept. 29. The hours in Cheshire will be 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Paint shed is located at the Transfer Station on Main Street, adjacent to the Highway Garage.

Collection days at the Hinsdale paint shed will be on May 19, Aug. 25 and Sept. 22. The hours in Hinsdale will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Paint shed is located at the Transfer Station on Longview Avenue.   

The Williamstown paint shed will be open on May 5, June 2 and Sept. 8. The hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Paint shed is located at the Transfer Station at 675 Simonds Road.

Paint, only, is being collected and includes latex, oil-based, alkyd, stains or polyurethane. There is a charge of $2 per liquid gallon of paint. Spray paint is accepted at no charge.

The Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held on Oct. 13 at a location to be determined.

These collections are open to residents of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Lanesborough, New Ashford, Peru, Savoy, Williamstown and Windsor.
