|Stamford Students Selected For National Leaders Program|

STAMFORD, Vt. — Principal Beth
Madison Tatro, left, Julianne Sullivan, Jackson Keplinger, Hunter Sarkis and Dalton Tatro were selected to participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Program this summer.
Choquette congratulated five students who were selected to participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Program.
"All of the staff and I know the parents and School Board members are very proud of them and very excited that have so many of them not only nominated, but selected to attend the program this summer," Choquette said at Thursday's School Board meeting
Hunter Sarkis, Madison Tatro, Dalton Tatro, Jackson Keplinger and Julianne Sullivan were chosen to participate in the summer program.
Sullivan will attend the Villanova (Pa.) University conference from July 9-13. She will participate in the Crime Scene Investigation program.
According to its website
, the conference "offers mature, high-achieving middle school students the opportunity to learn about leadership by studying the leaders of the past and by focusing on social advocacy to make a positive impact in their homes and communities."
Choquette also recognized other achievements from around the school.
Jacob Keplinger qualified for the National Geographic Geography Bee
in Middlebury, which took place on March 30. He was one of the 80 students selected from Vermont.
Choquette congratulated eighth-grader Olivia Grant, seventh-grader Lorenzo Cristofolini, sixth-grader Aimee Dowling and fifth-grader Matt Bugbee for their success in the Science Fair, which took place on March 29.
Choquette also praised the girls' basketball team for its undefeated season.
The School Board also recognized and applauded an ongoing third and fourth grade stamp project. The third- and fourth-graders sent a stamp proposal honoring Sarah Hale
, the author of "Mary Had A Little Lamb," to the U.S. Postal Service. The Postal Service reviewing committee sent a letter back saying they will review the stamp.
