A dog on a leash should not be banned from a cemetery. Most of them are better behaved than the average North Adams resident.

Its not the dog that we have a problem with it is the dogs owners that do not pick up after their dogs. Be it the streets,parks anywhere you name it.

People need to be more responsible for their dogs. I'v been complaining about my neighbor for years, he lets his dog crap all over the sidewalk on Francis St, and also throws dog crap over the embankment going down furnace st. What's the sense of having a city ordinance if you can't even get the dog officer to return phone calls. You should see all the dog crap that is behind Red Sauce, on Ashland st. On a hot day you can smell the stench of dog crap.

A little poop in the cemetery is minor to the huge pile of poop growing bigger on union st.it really looked great this past weekend .I cant wait for it warm up.

I agree people should pick up after their dogs. where exactly can u walk your dog? The walking tracks say no dogs, the campground signs say no dogs. Maybe the city should turn Sullivan school into a dog park. People just need to be responsible dog owners. If the city is going to enforce this they should also ban horses from the campground/lake area. I think that there are bigger issues to be addressed in the city.

i cant walk through my own front yard without stepping in dog poop...and i don't even own a dog...its not the dogs fault for sure...and like the above post...most ppl of NA are worse than the dogs...

never mind the dogs even though everyone should pick up after their own pups. Lets talk about the cat issue. I think thats a more serious problem in this city. The amount of stray/ feral cats is unreal in this city! Even cats that are taken care but let to roam is a problem . sorry I dont want my yard used as kitty litter box! and theres nothing I can do about because there are no laws for cats. They spread diseases, populate, and can cause accidents. North Adams needs to address this issue

Not only is it unsanitary it is also a desectation of the graves and I have told somone of this 2 years ago and was not only swore at but they also challenged me to call the cops as if they knew someone down at the station who would look the other way.I would be outraged if one of these walkers allowed their dogs to urinate or deficate on my families graves and I can not believe the ignorance and disrespect these people show.

It's the easiest thing in the world to clip one of those dog poop pick-up bag dispensers to your leash (they're cheap!) or stuff a plastic grocery bag in your pocket. There's no excuse for not picking up after your pet. When I'm out with my dogs I almost always end up picking up extra poop - people will leave it right there in the middle of the sidewalk. If you want to live in the middle of a poop-filled property than that's your business, but when out and about be respectful of others. These are the people that ruin the party for everyone :(

Having just cleaned dog poop off my Dad's gravestone a few weeks ago, this is definitely a problem. How disgusting and unthoughtful some dog owners are!
