NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The North Adams SteepleCats jumped out to an early lead on Independence Day, and held on to defeat the Valley Blue Sox, 5-4, in North Adams.   The Joe Wolfe Field premises were packed with 4,623 fans, which made for an electrifying atmosphere before the night sky was lit up with Fourth of July fireworks.   North Adams never trailed in the contest, and took their initial lead in the bottom of the first inning. KEENE, N.H. -- The North Adams SteepleCats could not overcome an early surge from the Keene Swamp Bats, and lost 12-0 in front of a capacity crowd of 4,425 at Alumni Field.   The Swamp Bats have won three straight games in the series after the 'Cats won the opener.   The Swamp Bats never trailed on Monday night, scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning and again in the second. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Tank Roberson scored 25 points to lead Yard Work by Dan to a 69-67 win over Central Radio on Tuesday in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Joe Wiggins scored 13, and Keiland Cross added 10 in the win.   For Central Radio, Mitch Scace scored 20, and Vernon Cross had a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. OAKVILLE, Ont. -- The Orangeville Bengals rallied from an early three-run deficit to earn a 4-3 win over the Cages 14-and-under travel baseball team on Sunday at the Canada Classic.   Oscar Low doubled, walked and scored a run for Cages, which managed just four hits on the day.   Paul Roeder, Derek Paris and Panayiotis Constantopoulos each had a hit, and Landen Jamula, Jack Gitterman and Thomas Martin each drove in a run in the loss.   Roeder went the distance on the mound, striking out three and allowing just three earned runs.
