Three pitchers combined on a 4-3 win Sunday that lifted B.B.A. into first place in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League’s 20-and-over division.   Seamus Morrison, Connor Lein and Joe Delsoldato threw for B.B.A. in the win over the North County Knights, who slipped to 0-5-1 this summer.   B.B.A. improved to 5-1, pushing it past Lenox and Housatonic, who are tied for second in the seven-team division at 4-2.   On Father’s Day, Jesus Lay went 1-for-1 with two walks and scored twice for B.B.A.   The Knights got a pair of hits from Joe Boucher.     Great Barrington scored four times in the top of the seventh to take an 8-4 lead, but Lenox stormed back

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Joe Wiggins scored 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds Sunday to help Yard Work by Dan earn a 78-69 win over Moonlight Diner in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Tank Roberson and Keiland Cross each scored a team-high 13 to lead Yard Work, which got 10 poitns apiece from Lavante Wiggins and Nolan Bird.   Brendan Kordana scored a game-high 25, and Treyvon Sims and Anthony Sims each scored in double figures with 12 and 10, respectively, for Moonlight Diner. SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. -- The North Adams SteepleCats could not overcome five errors on Saturday night, falling 3-1 to the Ocean State Waves at Old Mountain Field.   It was the fourth consecutive defeat for the SteepleCats, including the second straight away from home.   Ocean State took the initial lead in the bottom of the first inning. The North Adams SteepleCats rallied from a 5-1 deficit, but eventually fell 7-6 to the Keene Swamp Bats at Alumni Field in New Hampshire on Thursday night   The loss dropped North Adams to .500 on the season at 4-4.   Keene took the initial lead in the bottom of the first inning, thanks to four Swamp Bat hits. Five former and one current North Adams SteepleCats were selected by Major League Baseball franchises in the 2017 entry draft.   These six players add to an already lenghty list of drafted SteepleCats, including nine who have advanced to the Big Leagues.   The first former SteepleCat to come off the board was 2015 catcher Rob Calabrese, who was drafted in the tenth round by the San Francisco Giants out of Illinois-Chicago. Calabrese, who hit .353 with eight home runs for UIC this season, played 35 games for the SteepleCats during the 2015 NECBL season. He scored 15 runs, clubbed eight doubles, and drove in nine runs. The North Adams SteepleCats suffered a home defeat for the first time in 2017 on Monday night, coming up two runs short in an 8-6 loss to the Valley Blue Sox at Joe Wolfe Field.   Three errors doomed the 'Cats, who also were outhit 14-7 by the visiting Blue Sox.   North Adams got off to a promising start, posting two runs in the bottom of the first.
