LACONIA, N.H. -- Scout Knotts homered, and Matt Koperniak doubled and drove in a pair of runs Thursday as the North Adams SteepleCats defeated Winnipesaukee, 10-2, in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.   Joseph Porricelli went 3-for-5 in a 13-hit North Adams attack.   The SteepleCats used four different pitchers in the win.   James Flahive earned the win with two innings of one-hit relief.   The SteepleCats (23-14) come home Friday to face Upper Valley at Joe Wolfe Field.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Justin Girard had a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds Wednesday to help iBerkshires.com defeat Waterman's Excavating, 52-42, in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Branon Hurst scored a game-high 18 to lead iBerkshires to victory.   Lukas Zelazo led Waterman's with 13 points. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Gemini Gymnastics had a busy season and returned from national competitions in Disney World last month with a championship.   Things are quiet during the summer at gymnastics school and although owner and instructor Amy Garner is enjoying a brief respite, there is always work to be done in preparation for another season of training and competition.   "They are on break now so we are just getting ready to do it all over again," she said. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — North Adams struck just before Mother Nature did on Saturday night, as the local team rallied to a 9-5 victory over the Boston North End Dodgers, just before weather shortened the first game of the annual LaFesta Baseball Exchange at Joe Wolfe Field.   The two sides met for the 29th straight season in the yearly event in which each club travels for a two-game series.
