NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Tank Roberson scored 37 points Monday to lead Yard Work by Dan to a 73-31 win over the NA Celtics in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Shaq Ardrey added 12 points in the win.   For the NA Celtics, Wayne Lavigne and Brendan Piaggi scored 11 and 10, respectively.   Monday's other game was a forfeit.   The league has two games scheduled Wednesday starting at 6:30 at Noel Field.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Hernen Sardinas of the Plymouth Pilgrims hit a leadoff home run in the top of the ninth Sunday to give the South All-Stars a 5-5 tie with the North in the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star game at Joe Wolfe Field.   Colby Maiola of the Sanford Mainers went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead the North.   North Adams SteepleCats pitcher Blake Whitney got the start on the mound for the North, striking out two in one perfect inning.   The SteepleCats play their final home game of the season on Monday at 6:30 against the Valley Blue Sox.   More photos from this game here.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Vernon Cross scored 16 points Sunday to lead Central Radio to a 55-41 win over the Celtics in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Todd Hunt scored 11 and grabbed nine rebounds, and Nino Sanchez scored 10 in the win.   Keith Czubryt scored a game-high 21 points with nine boards for the Celtics.   On Monday at Noel Field, Yard Work by Dan plays the NA Celtics, and Timeless Training faces Frank Field Contracting in a double-header that starts at 6:30.

MOUNT HERMON, Mass. -- The Berkshire Attack girls lacrosse team recently dropped a 13-9 loss to Catamount Lacrosse at Northfield Mount Hermon School.   Hoosac Valley Regional High School's Sarah Tomkiewicz and Mount Greylock's Carolyn Jones each scored three goals for the Attack.   Wahconah's Maddie Nief and Mount Greylock's Brooke Phelps anchored the Berkshire defense, which got 15 saves from Hoosac Valley's Abi Disbrow.

SANFORD, Maine. -- The North Adams SteepleCats gained a critical victory on Friday night, knocking off the Sanford Mainers 2-0 at Goodall Park in Sanford.   Thev'Cats kept their NECBL Playoff hopes alive with the victory, moving closer to the third place Keene Swamp Bats.   Neither team was able to score in the first three innings of the contest, thanks to stellar starts from Ryan Tapp (UNC Asheville) and Stephen Arntsen (Manhattan). NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dick Lamb and Holly Taylor have been named honorees for the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts’ Department of Athletics' 21st annual Golf Classic at the Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield.

The event will take place on Monday, Aug. 7, which represents a change from previous tournaments, previously held in September. Registration is underway online. Teams of four will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. In the event of rain, the Golf Classic will be held on Monday, Sept. 18.
