ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Taconic graduate Lauren Mangiardi netted a hat trick and Kate Mancini added a pair of goals as the MCLA women's soccer team cruised past Cobleskill, 6-1, Wednesday.      Mancini opened the scoring in the 18th minute as she scored an unassisted goal for her first of the season. Ten minutes later, Mangiardi collected a Caitlyn Maloney feed and deposited in the goal to make it 2-0. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The visiting Westfield State University women's soccer team got a first half goal from Casey Rotti and then the Owls controlled possession the rest of the way as they defeated the MCLA Trailblazers 2-0 Saturday afternoon at Shewcraft Field in MASCAC action.   Westfield (4-2-1, 2-0) controlled play throughout as MCLA (1-6, 0-2) employed a defensive minded approach all game long to slow down the Owls.  The visitors would outshoot MCLA 30-0 in the contest, but couldn't get many past MCLA keeper Megan Richardson.    Rotti's goal came off a corner kick in the 28th minute of play. LENOX, Mass. -- Kent Lemme and Heather Mumford were the ironman and ironwoman champions Sunday at the 42nd Josh Billings Triathlon.   Lemme completed the run, boating, biking event in a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes, 38 seconds and placed fifth overall in the triathlon, which sees teams and indviduals competing together.   Mumford finished in 4:04:12.   The team from Allen Heights Veterinary (biker Josh Lipka, canoists Tom Keefe/Ben Pigott and runner Steve Monsulick) defended its overall title, finishing in 2:17:08 to edge runner-up Josh Itch (Brian Rabuse, Sue Purdy/Kurt Kuehnel and Stephen Foley). GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Monument Mountain Cup Soccer Committee will host a 3-on-3 youth tournament on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Monument Mountain Regional High School.   Boys and girls divisions will be contested in the under-10, under-12 and under-14 age groups.   All teams of three to four players are guaranteed at least three matches with the top four teams in each division advancing to the semi-finals.   The final games for each division will be played under the lights.   The entry fee is $100 per team. CASTLETON, Vt. -- The MCLA volleyball team earned a pair of wins Saturday afternoon with 3-0 sweeps over Castleton University and Lyndon State.   MCLA (4-3) took care of the host Spartans (0-4) in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-16.   Sara LaFreniere paced the offense in the opener with nine kills and eight digs. Mackenna Jordan collected 15 digs while Reagan Scattergood notched 13. Beatrice Lechler had a team best six assists.   In the nightcap against the Hornets (0-8), MCLA cruised once again.
