NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The ninth-ranked Montclair State men's soccer team received goals from six different players as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 6-0 this afternoon in non conference soccer action.   Montclair (15-2) wasted little time in asserting their powerful offense as Aaron Rose tallied just 4:59 in to the game when he knocked home a through pass from Rafael Terci for an early 1-0 lead.  In the 18th minute, Matt Hendricksen dribbled through the MCLA defense and ripped a shot inside the box that made it 2-0 and sent the Red Hawks on their way.   Terci tallied in the 22nd minute when he headed home a Rose cross making it 3-0. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA women's volleyball team kept rolling Saturday as it swept a tri match with SUNY-Delhi and MASCAC foe Salem State in moving to 19-7 overall on the season.   The 3-0 win over Salem State kept MCLA atop the MASCAC standings at 4-0. The Trailblazers also defeated Delhi by a 3-0 margin. Salem State fell to 5-13 overall and stands at 2-3 in conference play.  Delhi dropped to 15-13 on the season.   In MCLA's match vs. Salem, it won by set scores of 25-16, 27-25, and 25-17.   Allison Clark once again paced MCLA with 14 kills and 14 digs. WESTFIELD, Mass. - The MCLA men's cross country program ran in the annual James Early Invitational this morning at Stanley Park in Westfield.   The Trailblazers finished 26th in the 38 team field.     The event was won by Union College.  The College of Saint Rose was second followed by Westfield State University.   Justin Zorn of Union won the 8k race with a time of 25:53.   MCLA was paced by Christopher Gamble's 82nd place finish. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Seven softball teams are competing at the Noel Field complex all day Saturday to benefit the family of Carson Willette.   Carson, 3, is battling Burkett lymphoma. The inaugural Carson Willette Co-Ed Benefit Softball Tournament features a day of light-hearted competition, good food and prizes.   Saturday morning's highlight was a ceremonial first pitch thrown by Carson and his twin brother, Preston.   The tournament features a raffle with prizes donated by a variety of area businesses. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Brandon Williams ran a time of 17 minutes, 22 seconds to win the Greylock Federal Fall Foliage 5K on Sunday afternoon.   Williams, 35, ran a pace of 5:33 per mile and edged runner-up Alex Schueckler, 25, by 11 seconds.   Eighteen-year-old Haley Bowers was the first woman across the finish line, coming in in 20:43 (6:38 per mile).   Bowers finished eighth overall and was followed by Elizabeth St. Clair, 57, who was the second-fastest woman in 22:16 and finished 16th overall.   The race was finished by 135 runners, ranging in age from 71-year-old Henry Art and Eric White, who finished 61st and 100th, respectively, to 4-year-old Kiersten

WATERVILLE, Maine -- The MCLA women's tennis team earned an important 7-2 win over Thomas College Saturday afternoon as they kept its NAC playoff hopes alive.   The Trailblazers evened their NAC mark at 3-3 and will have to defeat Husson Sunday to have a chance at the postseason.   The Trailblazers got off to a solid start sweeping the doubles play. HOLYOKE, Mass. -- MCLA junior Dylan Pereira notched a pair of goals and an assist in leading the Trailblazers to a 4-1 non conference win over Elms on the road this afternoon.   The win is MCLA's second straight as they improve to 2-4-2 on the season.  Elms drops to 2-7.   Pereira led MCLA (2-4-2) back, tallying just five minutes later as he booted home Edward Boateng's cross. In the 26th minute, Pereira sent a cross into the box that leading scorer Anthony Basile headed home giving the Trailblazers a 2-1 lead heading into halftime.   MCLA erased any hopes for an Elms comeback with goals in the 62nd and 68th minutes.
