FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- The MCLA men's basketball team held Framingham State to 29 percent shooting as they clamped down on the Rams and rolled to a 58-40 win on Thursday night.   MCLA (6-11, 3-3 MASCAC) was led by Keiland Cross and Adam Conquest who each ended with 10 points. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA women's basketball team overcame a seven-point halftime deficit Tuesday to earn a  63-60 win over Salem State University.   Courtney Pingelski led the Trailblazers with a team high 14 points.   MCLA earned its second straight win and improved to 6-11 overall and are now 2-3 in the conference.   The Vikings (7-12, 3-3) led, 32-25, at halftime, but MCLA used a strong third quarter, outscoring the Vikings 21-11 to enter the final period leading 46-43.   Mckenzie Robinson netted 11 points and had four assists.   The Trailblazers will go for three straight wins when they head to Framingham State on Thursday night.   NORTH

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Bids on designing the next phase at the Noel Field Athletic Complex are due on Feb.1, with the anticipation of awarding a contract by March.    Michael Nuvallie, director of the city's Office of Community Development, told the Parks & Recreation Commission on Monday that the hope is to start construction on the splash park after July 1 this year and have the park completed by June 2019.    "The goal is to try to build as much as we can this calendar year and complete  it by June 1 next year," he said. PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- The Berkshire Lacrosse Club is hosting a four-day instructional program at The Infield (10 Lyman St.) starting Feb. 3.   The program will focus on skill development, the rules of lacrosse, and organized game play.
