NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Reece Racette scored 26 points, and Scott McGuire had a double-double Thursday to lead the Drury boys basketball team to a 64-59 win over Hoosac Valley in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   McGuire finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds in the win.   Izaha Stubbs had a double-double for the Hurricanes, scoring 12 to go along with 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks. MONTPELIER, VT. —While it certainly wasn’t the way they looked to go out, the SteepleCats offense displayed what way they struggled with all season on Wednesday night; runners left on base.

In their final game of the 2018 season, the SteepleCats headed up to Montpelier, VT on Wednesday to take on the Vermont Mountaineers in a Northern Division matchup. Behind masterful pitching, the Mountaineers were able to blank the SteepleCats after a two-run home run helped secure a 5-0 win for Vermont.

KEENE, NH. — While it looked as if the SteepleCats’ bats have been stored overnight in a freezer in the first two games, the certainly heated up in the third contest on Tuesday night.

After their doubleheader at Joe Wolfe Field on Saturday was cut short due to a torrential downpour, the SteepleCats made an early morning trip up to Keene on Tuesday to take on the Keene SwampBats in a rare tripleheader. After Keene held off the SteepleCats offense in the first two games, North Adams powered back in game three, sending two home runs over the wall for a 12-9 victory.

GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. -- The Monument Cup Soccer Committee is again hosting a 3-on-3 soccer tournament for youth players in the U10, U12 & U14 age groups, in both boys and girls divisions on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Monument Mountain Regional High School.   Each team of three to four players is guaranteed at least three matches, with the top four teams in each division advancing to the semifinals.   The finals for each division will be played under the lights.   The entry fee is $80 per team before Aug. 15, $100 per team if submitted after.
