NORTH ADAMS, Mass. —  Frances Bernadette (Sifton) Cyr, 85 of North Adams, MA died Thursday March 11, 2021 at her home.

She was born in North Adams, MA on May 15, 1935, a daughter of Florido Leo "Floyd" Sifton and Marie Loretta (Ouellette) Sifton. She graduated from Drury High School.

Frances was first employed at Sprague Electric Co. and then worked at Excelsior Printing Co. for 33 years until her retirement in 1999. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Frances enjoyed her home and working in her yard. In her younger years, she was well-known for her beautiful singing voice.

Survivors include one son- Stephen L. (Rebecca) Cyr of North Adams and one daughter- Jacqueline M. Andrews of Pittsfield, MA. She also leaves six grandchildren including Heather, Kurtis, Jennifer, Robert, Nicole, and Christopher; several great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Athena. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Sifton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Frances Cyr will be celebrated Wednesday March 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
