Gary Bernardo, 69

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Gary Francis Bernardo, 69, of North Adams, peacefully left this world on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield after a long illness.



Gary was born in North Adams on February 25, 1950, to the late Frank and Ruth (Davis) Bernardo. He attended schools in North Adams. Gary was a veteran of the United States Army.



Gary enjoyed playing the guitar, listening to the Beatles, and was a collector of many items especially clocks and radios. He was also well-known for his love of a good cup of coffee.



Gary leaves his brother Wayne Bernardo and his wife Catherine, of Evergreen, Colo.; his nieces and nephews Natalie Bernardo of Chicago, Ill., Nicholas Bernardo of Evergreen, Colo., David Slick and his wife Robin of Pittsfield, Lori Keating and her husband Patrick of North Adams, and Daniel Slick, and Cheryl Slick of North Adams; his grand-niece, Lindsey Keating of North Adams who faithfully served as his caregiver; and several other grand nieces and nephews.



Gary was predeceased by his sister Frances M. Slick. The family would like to thank the staff at Turning Point in Williamstown for all their care.



Funeral notice: A funeral for Gary will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in North Adams. Calling hours will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on January 20 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL CHAPELS, 74 Marhsall St., North Adams. Burial will take place in the spring.
