NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - José Antonio Cruz, 68, of North Adams, Mass., died Sunday, December 1, 2019, at Berkshire Medical Center.

He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on February 21, 1951, son of José Antonio Cruz and Marcelina Fana. He attended schools in Tarrytown, N.Y., graduating from Sleepy Hollow High School.

José worked at Syntronics in Pittsfield and was last employed as a shift supervisor at Pittsfield Plastics. He enjoyed fishing, collecting baseball cards and cooking.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Ann (McGuire) Cruz, whom he married on March 19, 1975; two daughters, Erica Donovan of Adams and Lisa Cruz of Chesterfield, N.J.; three grandchildren, including Emily Cruz, Ella Donovan and Aurora DeMayo-Cruz; one sister, Maria of Lawrence, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral notice: The funeral for José Cruz will be Friday, December 6, 2019, at 11 a.m. at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery and a reception will follow.
