March 24, 2019

ADAMS, Mass. — Edward "Ed" Francis Cwalinski, 74, of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2019, while in the care of Hope West hospice center.

Born in North Adams on June 21, 1944, the son of Walter and Mary Melsky Cwalinski, he graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School in 1962. He spent his early years in Adams, where he was a member of several local drum and bugle corps, including the PNA and Berkshire Marauders. Upon graduation, he joined the Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War era, having served his country from June 1962 until his discharge in April 1965.

He also leaves a brother, Walter "Sonney" Cwalinski and his wife, Nancy, of Bonita Springs, Fla., as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service is scheduled to take place at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, Colo., with full military honors at a later date. The family requests donations are made in Ed's memory to Hope West for the love, support and care that the incredible staff provided to Ed's family during his last days.
