NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Crystal Ann Brooks, 58, of North Adams, Mass., died on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center – North Adams.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., on April 17, 1960, a daughter of the late William Lee “Willie” Brooks Sr. and Dorothy (Wilder) Brooks. She attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School and graduated from Skidmore College with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology.
Crystal went on to build a long career at Williams College, where she worked from 1984 until the time of her death. She most recently served as the director of prospect management and research in the Development Office.
Crystal was a member of the Northern Berkshire YMCA. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and fitness – especially bicycling.
Survivors include her sisters Helen Ruth Brooks of Chicago, Ill., Glenda Brooks of Amherst, Mass., and Marjorie Brooks of Woodlands, Texas; brother Darryl Brooks of North Adams, Mass.; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Yvette Brooks, who died on February 13, 1964; and her brother Willie Lee Brooks, who died on March 27, 1985.
Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Crystal Brooks will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations in her memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home.
