Mary 'Madelyn' Clermont, 95

November 29, 2018


NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary "Madelyn" (Charbonneau) Clermont, 95, of North Adams, Mass., died Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Williamstown Commons, surrounded by her family.



She was born in North Adams, Mass., on February 27, 1923, daughter of George and Evelyn B. (Bouchard) Charbonneau. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1942.



Madelyn was last employed by the city of North Adams at its middle school as the cafeteria manager for 20 years until her retirement in 1988. Before that, she worked at Mass Electric on Bank Street.



She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Madelyn enjoyed bowling.



She was the widow of Edward Arthur "Jack" Clermont, who died on December 8, 2010. They were married on April 10, 1948, in the former Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church.



Survivors include two daughters, Jacquelyn Clermont and her husband, Jerry Clabaugh, of Arlington, Mass., and Janice A. Andrews and her husband, Randy, of North Adams; two grandsons, including Brad W. Andrews of Copiague, N.Y., and Aaron E. Andrews of North Adams; and many nieces and nephews, including Paul Vincelette of Virginia Beach, Va.



She was predeceased by her twin sister, Roselyn "Roz" Vincelette.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Madelyn Clermont will be celebrated Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.  Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams.



Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass., are Monday, December 3, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire in care of the funeral home.

Janice, I am so very sorry to learn of the passing of your mom. I didn't find out until after the calling hours or I would have been there. I remember her as a very nice woman.
