Claire Arnold, 89

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Claire (Lambert) Arnold, 89, of North Adams, Mass., died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at her home. 



She was born in Burlington, Vt., on May 21, 1929, a daughter Amede and Alphonsine (LeClair) Lambert. Mrs. Arnold attended the Holy Family School in North Adams. In her early years, she worked for Wall Streeter Shoe Company, and later for Sprague Electric. 



She was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Claire was a member of St. John Bosco Church in Stamford, Vt.



She was the widow of Aime Arnold, whom she married in 1947. He died on April 14, 2000.



Survivors include her daughter, Diane Bushika and her husband, Joseph, of Clarksburg, Mass.; sons Andrew Arnold and his wife, Gail, and Michael Arnold and his wife, Mary Jane, all of North Adams, Edward Arnold of Readsboro, Vt., Lawrence Arnold and his wife, Bette, Richard Arnold and his partner Sandy Berard, both of Stamford, Vt., and Christopher Arnold and his wife, Jackie, of Savoy, Mass.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.



She was predeceased by her son Gary Joseph Arnold, who died on June 1, 2014. Claire was the last of her immediate family of three brothers and six sisters.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Claire Arnold will be held Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John Bosco Church, 818 Main Rd., Stamford, VT 05352. Burial will follow in Millard Cemetery, Stamford, Vt. 



There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in her memory to the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247.
