NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Goodbye, Martha Jean.
Martha Jean Vadnais, 65, of North Adams died on Friday, August 24, 2018, at her home. Martha was born on December 11, 1952, in North Adams, a much-beloved daughter of Lawrence Henry Vadnais & Elizabeth R. (Ross).
Martha graduated from Mt. Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass., and then attended Elmira College and later North Adams State College. She went on to a successful career as a floral designer, owning and operating Town & Country Flowers in Williamstown for many years. After leaving the flower business, Martha worked in the hospitality industry - at restaurants in Clifton Park, New York and North Adams.
Martha will be remembered as a loving daughter, our big sister, and an absolute animal lover - specially cats and dogs. She spent this life working in her unique way to make this world a better place by connecting many small acts of love and kindness together into a whole. She will be missed.
Martha leaves her mother, Elizabeth R. Vadnais; brothers Andy (and his wife, Nancy, and son Tae), and Christopher (and his wife Rachel, and children Jessica, Caron, Erin, Jon, and Madison); and sister Katie Skype (and her husband Corey, and children Lindsey and Tucker).
Funeral notice: A memorial celebration of the unique life of Martha Jean Vadnais will be held at a future date this fall. Donations for the Berkshire Humane Society or Pop Cares may be made in Martha’s name in care of the funeral home.
