NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Stephen Anthony Filiault, 71, of North Adams, Mass., passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018, after a long illness. 

Born in North Adams on June 27, 1947, he was the son of the late George H. Filiault and Virginia (LePage) Filiault. Steve was predeceased by his wife, JoAnn (Sjoblom) Filiault on November 18, 1983, and his son, Joshua Filiault, on April 4, 2007. 

Steve graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1965, where he was an outstanding athlete and played on the basketball team. He spent many of his adult years in California, New York and Michigan before returning to North Adams in 2004.  

He is survived by his longtime companion, Hope Bourdon; and several brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, Steve leaves many friends locally as well as in Michigan. 

Funeral notice: A private graveside service for Steve will take place at a later date at Southview Cemetery in North Adams.
