NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Carl Henry Pierce, 74, of North Adams, Mass., died on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at North Adams Commons.
He was born in Warren, Vt., on February 7, 1944, a son to the late Hiram and Freda (Thompson) Pierce. He was raised on the family farm and attended schools in Warren, Vt. He was employed by Potvin Lumber Yard in Stamford, Vt., the Widen Tannery and was last employed at the Modern Aluminum Anodizing Company.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Pierce married his wife, Shirley Ann Miller, on December 31, 1979. She died on July 13, 2005.
Survivors include his daughter, Jeanette M. Soto and her husband, Gerardo; a son, Michael Lafayette and his companion, Lisa Tam; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Tristan Soto; four sisters, Corinne Whitney, Hester Shelden, Harriet Whitney and Virginia Jones; and two brothers, Alwin and Merlin Pierce.
He was predeceased by a sister, Marian Pearce; and three brothers, Edward, Robert and Francis Pierce
Funeral notice: Calling hours for Carl Henry Pierce will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Flynn and Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall Street, North Adams, Mass. Memorial donations may be made in his memory through the funeral home.
