Dorothy R. Blondin, 84

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Dorothy Rose (LaBonte) Blondin, 84, of North Adams, Mass., died on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center. 



She was born in North Adams, Mass., on August 1, 1933, a daughter of the late Albert Joseph and Elsie Anna (Schmidt) LaBonte. She attended schools in North Adams. She worked for many years at the Sprague Electric Co., and was later employed at Waverly Fabrics in Adams, Mass., as well as Subway in Williamstown, Mass.



She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in North Adams. Dorothy enjoyed camping, bowling and playing cribbage. 



She was the widow of Ernest Roland Blondin, whom she married on August 31, 1957, in Notre Dame Church. He died on February 2, 2008.



Survivors include her daughter, Shari Blondin of North Adams; two sons, Stephen Blondin and his wife, Dawn, of North Adams and Kenneth Blondin of California; five grandchildren, Greg Brown, Matthew, Quincy and Jacob, Jared and Brandi Blondin; brother Donald LaBonte and his wife, Dorothy, of Plattsburgh, N.Y.; and sister-in-law and best friend Theresa “Ty” Brooks of Williamstown. 



She was predeceased by her son, David Wayne Blondin, who died in 1994; and her sister Shirley Morgan.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Dorothy Blondin will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church in North Adams. Calling hours will take place on Monday, March 26, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. 



 



Burial will take place in Clarksburg Cemetery in the spring. Donations in her memory can be made to PopCares Inc. in care of the funeral home.
