Ruth Ann Davis, 89

March 13, 2018


NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ruth Ann (Suthers) Davis, 89, of North Adams, Mass., died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at Berkshire Medical Center. 



She was born in North Adams, Mass., on January 10, 1929, a daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Dean) Suthers. Ruth attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. She went on to work in food service at Williams College until her retirement.



Ruth was an active communicant of Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, as well as the Clarksburg Senior Center. She was an avid bowler, and participated in a retiree league.



Ruth was the widow of Joseph John Davis, whom she married on October 15, 1949. He died on March 9, 2015.



Survivors include her three sons, Bruce Davis and his wife, Joyce, of Clarksburg, Timothy Davis and his wife, Nancy, of Naples, Fla., and Kevin Davis and his wife, Teresa, of Adams; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Pontier, Heather Carpenter, Kaitlin VanDeusen, Kelley O’Shea, Laura, Joseph and Michael Davis; eight great-grandchildren; as well as her faithful dog, Bubba. 



She was predeceased by her brother, Edward F. Suthers.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Ruth Davis will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Sts. Patrick & Raphael Parish, Williamstown, Mass. Calling hours will take place on Friday, March 23, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. 



Burial will take place in the spring at Southview Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Patrick’s Food Pantry.

The neighborhood just won’t be the same without Joe, Ruth and Bubba. We were so sad to hear this news. She was a wonderful woman and will be dearly missed. Our prayers go out to all of her family.
