NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Thomas Norton, 81, of North Adams, Mass., died Friday evening, February 9, 2018, at the home of his niece, Kimberly A. Bissaillon.
He was born in Stamford, Vt., on December 29, 1936, son of Eugene Thomas Norton and Maude (Sumner) Norton Donato. He attended schools in North Adams and New Jersey.
Thomas was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a self-employed independent tractor-trailer driver for many years until his retirement. Thomas enjoyed fishing and studying history and really enjoyed watching the History Channel. He was a staunch Republican.
Survivors include two sons, Todd Norton of Holmdel, N.J., and Thomas Norton of Nashville, Tenn. He also leaves three grandchildren, Calin, Shayla and Shane; two great grandchildren, Luca and Gianni; his close friend, Marlene; and nieces nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Constance Alcombright and Marie Gagnon.
