NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Robert Stephen "Sprouty" Sprowson, 50, of North Adams died Sunday, December 24, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.
He was born in North Adams on July 17, 1967, a son of the late James I. Sprowson Sr. and Gloria Ann (Olney) Sprowson. He attended schools in North Adams, including Drury High School. Sproutty served with the Massachusetts National Guard in North Adams as a private for six years. He was employed for any years as residential and commercial painter. He was last employed at the Krutiak Construction Company.
Survivors include his loving and devoted children Kelsey Sprowson and Jonathan Sprowson, both of North Adams; his former wife Debra Davis; three granddaughters, Jayden Cote, Braylee Todd and Addison Conn; a sister, Bonnie Cirullo and her husband Michael of North Adams; a brother, William "Billy" Sprowson of North Adams and his companion Faye Briggs of North Adams; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James "Butch" Sprowson Jr., who died July 15, 2003.
Funeral notice: Calling hours for Robert Stephen "Sprouty" Sprowson will take place Saturday, December 30, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass.
Burial will take place in the spring with military honors in the family plot in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested for Hospice Care in the Berkshires or to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter through the funeral home.
