NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Sylvia Marie (Richardello) Kipp, 78, of North Adams, Mass., died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at her home.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., on December 18, 1938, a daughter of the late Blaise and Philoma (Irace) Richardello. Mrs. Kipp attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School in 1957. She worked at Sprague Electric as a secretary in the sales office for many years, as well as for K & K Lumber Yard. She was last employed as a teacher’s aide in the North Adams School System, most recently at Drury High School.
Mrs. Kipp was an active communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. During her younger years, she was an avid bowler and square dancer.
Mrs. Kipp was the widow of Clyde Mortimer Kipp, whom she married on September 1, 1958. He died on August 1, 1997.
Survivors include her son David Kipp and his wife, Linda, of Mansfield, Mass.; daughter Lisa Tashian and her husband, Gary, of Kissimmee, Fla.; grandchildren Nicole and Andrew Tashian, and Harrison and Daniel Kipp; longtime loving companion William Pierce of North Adams; sister Charlotte Cardimino of North Adams; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Sylvia Kipp will take place on Monday, October 23, 2017, at 9 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams, Mass. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Conference or the AYJ Fund.
