Marianne Kenney, 94

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Marianne (Huttle) Kenney, 94, died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at the Soldier's Home in Holyoke, Mass.



She was born in North Adams on November 3, 1922, daughter of Mary Huttle. She graduated from Drury High School with the class of 1941 and attended Bliss Business College. Marianne enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1946. She returned to North Adams and resumed her position at Presidential Life Insurance Company in North Adams for fourteen years. In her later years she was the secretary for attorney and Judge Samuel Levine and Levine-Reinhardt Insurance Agency and for the Mayor’s office. Most recently she was employed for Williams College in the Chemistry Department as a premedical secretary, retiring in 1989.



Marianne was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. She was a life member of Women Marines Association. She was the past president of Women Marines Associate, MA 2. She was a life member of Marine Corps League, Westfield River Valley Detachment Marine Corps League. She was also a licensed real estate broker.



Survivors include several cousins and friends.



Marianne is the widow of Ambrose James Kenney, who died on February 27, 1961. They were married on September 28, 1956, in St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Marianne Kenney will be Friday, October 20, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial with full military honors will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.



Calling hours are Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. Donations may be made to Marine Corps Heritage Foundation in care of the funeral home.
