Lois M. Dean, 74

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lois May Dean, 74, of North Adams, Mass., died Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at her home. 



She was born in North Adams, Mass., on December 29, 1942, a daughter of the late Roger L. and Marion (Alfredo) Dean. Lois graduated from Drury High School in 1961. She went on to work at Sprague Electric and General Electric Co. She was last employed at Stop & Shop in North Adams, where she worked for 16 years until her retirement in 2008.



Lois was a longtime member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Adams, now All Saints Church. She was a member of the senior choir there for 50 years. She was also a member of the Handbell Memorial Choir. Lois was an avid tenpin bowler, and traveled throughout the state and country, competing at high level championships.



Survivors include her sisters, Barbara E. Dean of North Adams and Gloria E. Dailey of Pittsfield, Mass.; nieces Caryn Wendling and her husband Richard of Peru, Mass., and Janet Dailey of Pittsfield, Mass.; grand-niece Madelyn Wendling; grand-nephew Drew Wendling; and the love of her life, her cat Cassie.



Funeral notice: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Lois Dean will be Monday, October 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. at All Saints Church, 59 Summer St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.  



Calling hours at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West St., North Adams, Mass., are Monday morning from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Church in care of the funeral home.
