Mary A. Boisvert, 96

August 31, 2017


NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Alice (Stockwell) Boisvert, 96, of North Adams died on Wednesday, August 31, 2017, at North Adams Commons.



She was born on February 2, 1921, in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, a daughter of Frank & Eva Harris Stockwell. Mary attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School. She attended college in Springfield and received her master's degree in Library Science. She was a librarian at North Adams Public Library for many years. She was also a librarian for the city of North Adams public schools.



Mary was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in North Adams. She was an avid golfer at Taconic Golf Club, a bridge player with the Harper Center Bridge Group and an avid Boston Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed walking.



Mary married Charles E. Boisvert on May 31, 1943. He died on August 9, 1987.



She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Adamczyk and her husband Stanley of Southboro, Mass.; two sons, Bruce Boisvert and his wife Sandie of Stamford, Vt., and Clark Boisvert and his wife Tania of Bennington, Vt.; seven grandchildren, Scott Boisvert, Becky DiCaprio, Sara Boisvert, Jeffrey Boisvert, Patrick Boisvert, John Adamczyk and Amy Adamczyk; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, especially David Stockwell.



She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers, Al Stockwell, Norman Stockwell, Dorothy Amato and Marjorie Pead.



Funeral notice: The funeral for Mary Boisvert will be Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 11 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Endowment Fund in care of Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247.

Nancy - I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Nothing can replace our moms. I lost mine this week, too. We were blessed to have them with us this long.
