NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Longtime healthcare provider Beatrice Rose (Green) O’Brien, RN, 85, formerly of North Adams, Mass., died on August 25, 2017, at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Mass., surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in North Adams, Mass., on June 30, 1932, a daughter of the late Francis and Eva (Raymond) Green. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in North Adams, and later went on to graduate from St. Luke’s Nursing School in Pittsfield.
She was a devoted nurse and was associated for much of her career with the Williamstown Medical Associates as Dr. Erwin A. Stuebner’s assistant and nurse. Prior to that, she was the head nurse of the pediatric department at North Adams Regional Hospital. She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church.
She was the wife of Arthur Charles O’Brien, whom she married on June 21, 1958. They had just recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They moved to North Andover several years ago to be close to family.
Survivors include two daughters, Eileen O’Brien of Malden, Mass., and Patricia O’Brien of Rye, N.H.; a son, Raymond O’Brien and his wife Debra of North Andover, Mass.; three grandchildren, Katie O’Brien, Jack O’Brien and Elizabeth Harpin; a nephew and Godson, Mark Lincourt, and his wife Joyce of Chicopee, Mass.; sister-in-law Jeannette Green of Williamstown; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Raymond Green and Francis Green and her beloved sister Theresa Lincourt.
Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Beatrice O’Brien will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
