Leo J. Lamore Jr., 87

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Leo Joseph Lamore Jr., 87, of North Adams, Mass., died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. 



He was born in North Adams, Mass., on January 21, 1930, a son of the late Leo J. and Emily M. (Fournier) Lamore. He attended Notre Dame schools and graduated from Drury High School, class of 1949. He was a decorated veteran of the Korean War, serving in the US Air Force. He was last employed by Sprague Electric Co. in Longwood, Fla., where he worked for 34 years until his retirement in May 1992.



He was a communicant of Pope John Paul the Great in Adams, Mass. He was a member of the North Adams VFW. He enjoyed landscaping and spending time with his shih tzu, Jozephine.



He was the widower of Jean Louise (Tovani) Lamore, whom he married on June 2, 1956, in St. Anthony of Padua Church. She died on March 29, 2014.



Survivors include a son, Craig A. Lamore of Clarksburg, Mass.; a daughter, Suzanne Lamore Sullivan and her husband, Raymond, of St. John’s, Fla.; a granddaughter, Zoe Lamore, and great-grandson Myles Alexander Burda-Lamore of Williamstown, Mass.; step-grandchildren Amanda and Zachary Comstock; sister-in-law Beverly Lamore of Stamford, Vt.; as well as nieces and nephews. 



He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Richard Lamore; and a sister, Verna H. Cribari.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial to celebrate the life of Leo Lamore will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Calling hours will be on Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montaga Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main Street, North Adams, Mass., 01247. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Southview Cemetery.
