Isabel T. Hyndman, 95

July 10, 2017


NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Isabel Thompson Hyndman, 95, of North Adams died Monday, July 10, 2017, at North Adams Commons.


 


Born in North Adams on July 8, 1922, daughter of David and Elizabeth Thompson Hyndman, she attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School.


 


Ms. Hyndman was employed at the former General Cable and Warren Wire companies for many years until her retirement. Before that, she worked at the former Ann's Kiddie Shop on Eagle Street. 


 


She enjoyed bowling and cribbage.


 




She is survived by her longtime companion of more than 50 years, Phyllis M. Schmidt; her sister, Evelyn Hyndman of North Adams; her brother David "Mickey" Hyndman of Adams, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. 


 


She was predeceased by three sisters and one brother: Catherine Corsi Clark, Jane Martinsen, Hazel Johnson and James Hyndman.


 


FUNERAL NOTICE — The funeral for Ms. Hyndman will be Thursday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. 


 


A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.

Sorry to hear about Aunt Izzy. Even though I didn't see her that often I will be sad knowing she is no longer there. she and Aunt Lulu were the only aunts that ever bothered with me and i was always thankful for that. God bless you for taking such good care of her all of her life.
