Mary Beth LaValley, 57

June 04, 2017

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Mary Beth LaValley, known to most as Betsy, peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June 4, 2017, with family by her side.

Born August 6, 1959, to the late Martha (Belouin) LaValley and Leo LaValley, Betsy lived in North Adams most of her life. She attended local schools, was a 1977 McCann Technical High School graduate, and a graduate of North Adams State College.

Betsy had a big heart, as evidenced by her devotion to positions at employers such as BFAIR and the Brien Center, and her dedication to rescuing animals of all shapes, furs and feathers. Betsy will be remembered for her courageous tenacity, infectious laugh, and sassiness. She lived life on her terms.

Betsy is survived by her two beloved children, Beau Lescarbeau and his wife Cathy of Sterling, Va., and Frankie Ann Rinaldi of North Adams; grandsons Clark, Jhon, Julius and Zachary; her father, Leo LaValley; sister Kimberly LaValley; brothers Peter LaValley, David LaValley, Michael LaValley, Richard LaValley and Shaun LaValley; sisters-in-law Janet LaValley and Nancy LaValley; 15 nieces and nephews; and 21 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

She was predeceased by her loving mother, Martha Belouin LaValley; brothers Stephen LaValley and Lawrence LaValley; sister-in-law Susan Murphy; and Beau’s father, David P. Lescarbeau.

Funeral notice: A graveside service for Betsy LaValley will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Southview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals is in charge of the arrangements.

My heart saddens for Betsy family. I can still remember when it was Sue, Lanie Betsy and myself hung around. We all had good times back then. May her family remember all the good times and love she showed them.

Betsy, I am so sorry to hear this. I was actually thinking about you just yesterday. You tried to set up a date for me at McCann's. And remember our class camp out after graduation? Everybody remembers you sweetly.
