NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Ronald G. Superneau, longtime businessman and civic leader, 79, of North Adams died on Wednesday, February 8, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Worcester, Mass., on May 22, 1937, a son of the late Albert F. and Madelyn (Smith) Superneau. He attended school in North Adams, graduating from Drury High school in 1955. He was an All Berkshire in Football and Baseball. He was a decorated veteran, serving with the U.S. Marines.

He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He coached the Rotary Little League baseball team for 15 years. He was a lover of all sports and enjoyed bowling, as well as golfing at Waubeeka Golf Links, where he recorded a hole-in-one on the 7th hole, the same hole where his wife was later struck by lightning. He was very active in the Greylock Club, a longtime fan of the San Francisco 49ers, a member of the American Legion, and later a member of the Retired Men's Club.
His greatest joy was attending his grandchildren's and family events. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.
