GALLERY TALK FOR PEOPLE WITH DEMENTIA
Williamstown, 2 p.m.
“Meet Me at the Clark,” a free gallery talk program specially designed for persons with dementia and their caregivers, will be held at the Clark Art Institute. To register in pairs (persons with dementia and their caregivers), call 413-458-0410. Groups are welcome. From September through June, the Clark is closed on Mondays, providing a safe and private atmosphere in which specially trained docents facilitate open-ended conversations about art.

Toddler storytime and songs at the North Adams Public Library in Youth Services Department is held for ages birth to 3 years old, siblings welcome.  One to two stories are read with lots of songs and gross motor skill activities as well.

AFTER SCHOOL LEGO CLUB

Library Lego Groups! Lego groups are for families with children ages 4-12 years old. After School Lego Club November 7 and 21 from 3:30 -4:30 p.m. at the Adams Free Library 92 Park Street, lower level. It will meet monthly on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

OH BE THANKFUL DESSERT CONTEST & AUCTION
North Adams, 5 p.m.
Abbott Memorial School, with the Project 351 Eighth Grade ambassadors Norah Newlands and Logan King, will be sponsoring the 14th Annual Oh Be Thankful Dessert Contest & Auction at the North Adams American Legion. The benefactors of their service project will be the Friendship Center Food Pantry on Eagle Street in North Adams, the Berkshire Humane Society and the North Adams American Legion Annual Christmas Day dinner. Entry forms and details for the dessert contest are available at the school or at the school website.

STEINER SCHOOL MORNING
Great Barrington, 9:30-11 a.m.
Great Barrington Rudolf Steiner School welcomes parents, grandparents and caregivers to a “Looking Ahead to Elementary School” morning. Prospective families will learn more about the Steiner Waldorf curriculum, visit classes in progress, discover how kindergarten students transition to the grades and discuss academic, social and artistic aspects of the school’s elementary and middle school program. The morning also includes an option to continue to the Steiner Thanksgiving assembly from 11 a.m. to noon, a unique all-in-one opportunity to experience some of the projects grades one through eight have been working on during fall term. PITTSFIELD GREEN DRINKS
Pittsfield, 6 p.m.
Laurie Reid from the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) will speak at the Pittsfield Green Drinks November meeting at J Allen's Clubhouse, 41 North St. Reid will talk about the importance of urban trees and how these canopies contribute to our communities. She will also give a mini workshop focusing on young tree care. Pittsfield Green Drinks is an informal gathering on the third Tuesday of the month. These nights are open to everyone with any environmental interest. The drinks aren’t green but the conversations are.

ANNUAL TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
North Adams, 6 p.m.
Join us for the Annual Tree Lighting! On Wednesday, traffic will be routed away from the tree at Monument Square on Main St. (between the First Congregational and First Baptist Churches) where residents are asked to gather to count down the seconds until the switch is thrown and thousands of twinkling lights adorn the downtown. As soon as Main Street lights up the Drury High School Band and Band Front will lead the way with festive songs for the North Adams Fire Department’s fire engine as it makes its way through downtown with Santa Claus. Santa and his helpers will bring gifts for the first 500 children. Rain Date: Friday, December 1st.

VEGAN POTLUCK THANKSGIVING GATHERING
Lenox, 1-3 p.m.
The Berkshire Vegan Network is holding its annual Vegan Thanksgiving Gathering at United Methodist Church of Lenox. All seats MUST have a reservation to 13-458-3664 before Friday, Nov. 17. There will be a fee of $6 for adults and $3 for kids 3-12. Each person is asked to bring a dish that will serve eight hungry vegans. Please bring a vegan dish (free of all animal products).  Please attach a recipe card with ingredients. Also bring your own place setting and utensils. Hot and cold water will be available for drinks.

COMMUNITY MAKE DAY
Pittsfield, 12 - 4 p.m.
On November 24th from 12:00 to 4:00 Shire City Sanctuary will host the annual Community Make Day. Folks from all around the county are invited to learn how to create garlands and wreaths out of recycled fabrics, helping to spark creative repurposing during the holiday season. Decorations made will be used to deck Shire City Sanctuary out for the upcoming 11th Annual Holiday Shindy. There is no fee for Community Make Day. All ages are welcome! Attendees are encouraged to bring brightly colored fabrics to create with, these can be anything from used clothing to old dishcloths. The older and “tackier” the better!

HOGBACK MOUNTAIN SKI TRAIL CLEAN UP
Vermont, 1 - 4 p.m.
Hogback Ski Trail Clean Up Day: Friday, Nov 24, 1-4 pm. Spend the afternoon at the Hogback Mountain Conservation Area in Marlboro, VT, getting the slopes cleaned up for do-it-yourself skiing and riding this winter. Meet at 1:00 in the parking lot on the south side of Route 9 just west of the gift shop, near the white distillery building. Bring your own favorite tool or borrow one from the Hogback stash. We'll call it a day by 4:00. See you on the mountain!

MESSIAH SING

The Berkshire Bach Society’s annual Messiah Sing, always held on Thanksgiving weekend, is the Society’s gift to the community and heralds the beginning of the holiday season. Join Choral conductor Frank Nemhauser, accompanied by the Berkshire Bach Players, a seasoned instrumental ensemble of professional musicians, including Lucy Bardo, one of America’s first and finest viola da gamba players (playing cello) and legendary trumpet player Allan Dean, along with Miriam Shapiro and Cindy Olgunick on violins, Eric Martin on viola, and Anne Voglewede Green on piano, at the First Congregational Church, 251 Main St. Bring your own score, or borrow or buy one at the door. LONDON'S NATIONAL THEATRE IN HD: FOLLIES
Great Barrington, 2 p.m.
Stephen Sondheim’s legendary musical is staged for the first time at the National Theatre and broadcast live to cinemas. New York, 1971. There’s a party on the stage of the Weismann Theatre. Tomorrow the iconic building will be demolished. Thirty years after their final performance, the Follies girls gather to have a few drinks, sing a few songs and lie about themselves. Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, it’s directed by Dominic Cooke (The Comedy of Errors).

VFW Post 9144 and the Clarksburg Fire Department will host the annual Christmas tree lighting. All are asked to bring a non perishable food item to be donated to the Friendship Center Food Pantry in North Adams.  Santa will be there courtesy of the fire department.

BOB’S WAY HISTORY HIKE

Difficulty: Moderate (moderate pace, moderate elevation changes) Description: This 2-mile hike highlights the history of Bob’s Way, ranging from the late 18th century to today. With its second-growth hardwood forest, stonewalls and foundations, wetlands, and old roads, Bob’s Way could be THE representative New England landscape. MET OPERA LIVE IN HD: ADèS’ THE EXTERMINATING ANGEL ENCORE
