TALK BY CHILDREN’S ILLUSTRATOR
Dalton, 6-8 p.m.
Northampton author/illustrator Jeff Mack will discuss the life of an author, the work it takes to turn an idea into a book, and what it takes to get published at the Dalton Free Public Library. He will also demonstrate some drawing techniques and work with the children to create their own art. All art supplies will be provided by the Library.

Family Literacy Nights at Abbott Memorial School in Florida. Thursday, April 11 and 25 from 4:00-5:00 pm Join us for two evenings of reading and fun with books at Abbott Memorial Preschool. The event will be in the cafeteria of Abbott Memorial School, 56 North County Road.  Activities are appropriate for families with children ages 3-5, siblings welcome.

STAMFORD LOCAL HISTORY VIDEO
Vermont, 6-7:30 p.m.
Stamford students will show a video they produced about town history n the Stamford Elementary School on Main Road. The video, “Student-Community Partners Present Stamford History,” features local residents and their memories of town, filmed during interviews over the winter by three of the school’s seventh- and eighth-graders. The program will offer the opportunity to watch the video and talk with the students and the people they interviewed. The students invite longtime community members to add their own reminiscences to the discussion during the event.

SPRINGFEST
Williamstown, Noon-4 p.m.
Snowfest, the Williamstown Youth Center’s annual celebration of fun and community, returns s Springfest at the WYC and the Williamstown Elementary School campus, which allows for the use of both indoor and outdoor facilities and helps to get kids and their families active outside with bounce houses, games, art activities and more. Donations will be accepted.

I AM A BRAIN BUILDER- A WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS.

I am a Brain Builder- A Workshop for Parents. Tuesday April 30, 3:30-4:30 pm at The Family Center. We will examine the importance of early brain development and what ways we can promote it in our children. Parents will learn hands-on Brain Building activities that they can use every day in their own home. Every family will receive “Brain Building” activities and materials to take home. For families with children ages birth-5 years. Refreshments served and on-site child care provided. Transportation available if needed. In collaboration with The Family Place. 3RD ANNUAL FOOD TRUCK FEASTIVAL
Pittsfield, 11:00 a.m.
The Pittsfield Suns are proud to present our 3rd Annual Food Truck Feastival! This event takes place at historic Wahconah Park on Saturday, May 25th and features food trucks from all over New England. Some of this year's trucks include Chick-Fil-A, Krispy Cone, Patruno's Place, One Sweet Ride, Autumn's Bistro, the Nom Nom Hut and more! The event runs from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM and is free admission to the general public! Parking will be $3 and our food vendors set their own prices. Be sure to come on out for a day of fun and fantastic food!

CHILD ID & TOUCH-A-TRUCK
Pittsfield, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Come on down to a Child ID and Touch A Truck Event being put on at the Pittsfield Church of Christ located at 826 Valentine Road in Pittsfield. We are putting this event on to bring awareness about Operation Bridges and the community outreach efforts of the Pittsfield Police to the community. Child ID: We are bringing in more computers and more helpers this year to allow as many children as possible to go through the Child ID. We have Western Mass Masonic Youth Child Identification Program, Massachusetts 30th Masonic District, Berkshire Lodge, Williams Masonic Lodge, Lafayette-Greylock Lodge, North Adams, MA., 31 Masonic District Of Massachusetts, New Moon Lodge, Evening Star Lodge and more all helping out with the Masonic Youth Child Identification Program. The Masonic Youth Child Identification Program (myCHIP) will be putting on a Child ID Program free to interested parents, this program includes the following: VIDEOTAPE: A brief video interview that can be quickly distributed to the media in order to reach a huge audience. FINGERPRINTING: Fingerprinting is a well-known means of identification. Resourceful parents keep fingerprints available should the need arise. CHEEK SWAB: A Q-tip is gently rubbed on the inside of a child’s cheek to gather DNA material.
