COMMUNITY PRESERVATION PLAN INPUT SESSION

The Community Preservation Committee will host its first public input session related to the creation of a Community Preservation Plan in City Council Chambers. The meeting will provide an overview of the Community Preservation Act as well as the required steps the committee will take prior to identifying specific projects for funding. The plan is a required step that allows the community to develop priorities in how Community Preservation Act funds are spent within the four allotted categories: parks, open space, historic preservation, and community housing.

QUAKER MEETING HOUSE

The Quaker Meeting House, built in 1782 by the East Hoosuck Meeting of the Society of Friends, will be open on Sundays from July 2 to Oct. 8. The meeting house, essentially unchanged since its construction, is located in the Maple Street Cemetery.  It was the place of worship of  the family of  Susan B. Anthony, born in Adams in 1820.  Free tours are given by members of the Adams Historical Society and the Adams Historical Commission.
