Pittsfield Car Rolls Over In Driveway, Hits Neighboring Building

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police and fire responded to a somewhat unique accident Monday afternoon.   In the driveway of a Columbus Avenue multi-family apartment building was an overturned Subaru, leaning on the neighbor's home.   There were no injuries as the woman operating the vehicle got out with only minor bumps and scratches.   According to those on the scene, the operator was driving into the driveway and hit stairs leading to one of the apartments.   The vehicle then rolled, coming to a stop on its roof, and leaning on the neighboring building.   A wrecker had to navigate the narrow driveway

No Injuries Reported After Police Fire Weapons During Search

Noble Avenue was closed for most of the day on Friday. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — Police officers shot at a man while executing a search warrant on West Housatonic Street on Friday morning but there were no injuries.   According to the district attorney's office, while the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant relating to drug activity, 23-year-old Marcel Teixeira-Ingram Jr. was seen pointing a handgun at officers. Two officers discharged weapons in response but did not hit the man.   He was then taken into custody.   Teixeira-Ingram Jr. is being charged with armed assault with intent to murder, illegal

  29, of Marcy, N.Y. was found guilty on three counts of rape and a single count of kidnapping.   He was ordered to be held without bail at the Berkshire County House of Correction until sentencing. On Tuesday, September 25, Harding was sentenced to concurrent eight to 18 to 20 years at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the rape charge. He was given eight to 10 years on the kidnapping charge. Those sentences will begin after he completes any time he is currently serving in the state of New York.     , 58, had a not guilty plea entered on his behalf on a fugitive of justice charge.   Court


Williamstown Woman Killed in Pownal Crash

POWNAL, Vt. — A Williamstown, Mass., woman was killed Friday morning after her sport utility vehicle was totaled in a three-car accident on Route 7.    Kristie M. Kuziel, 54, was taken by medical helicopter to Albany, N.Y., Medical Center, where she later died.    According to state police, a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe operated by Kuziel was northbound on Route 7 when her vehicle crossed into the left lane in Center Pownal and collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Honda CRV. Pittsfield Couple Dies In Early Morning Fire

The home caught fire shortly before 4 a.m. PITTSFIELD, Mass. — An elderly couple died in an early morning fire on Bryan Street Thursday.   Shortly before 4 a.m., an electrical cord short-circuited and set the home at 71 Bryan St. on fire. The three occupants — the couple and their daughter — woke up to heavy smoke on the first floor.
