Pittsfield Anti-Crime Unit Arrests Man on Drug, Firearm Charges

PITTSFIELD, Mass. — The city's Anti-Crime Unit arrested a Stockbridge man on Monday on drug and firearms charges.    According to police, police officers in plainclothes encountered William Lacy, 26, walking in the area of Center and Bradford streets. The encounter occurred at about 7 p.m. and officers say they developed probable cause for believing he was in possession of narcotics.    Lacey was searched and police said he was found to be in possession of 42 bags of heroin and a crack pipe. After he was placed under arrest, they conducted a search of the backpack Lacey was wearing. Inside the backpack, officers discovered a 9mm handgun

10 Arrested for Blocking Roads Near Sandisfield Gas Pipeline Project

SANDISFIELD, Mass. — Ten protestors were arrested Wednesday morning for blocking roads to the natural gas pipeline extension project.    State police said two groups — one at Cold Spring Road and South Beech Plain Road, the other at an access road —were peacefully blocking workers' access to the work area. Private security officers notified state police of the blockade at about 6:47 a.m. on Wednesday.    Protestors were asked to disperse but informed "security they were refusing to leave and understood that would face arrest," according to state police. Body of Bash Bish Falls Victim Recovered

EGREMONT, Mass. — The body of a Ghent, N.Y., man who slipped off a rock at Bash Bish Falls on July 28 has been recovered.

Authorities on Saturday were able to recover the body of 21-year-old Aiden Campion-Pratt from the waterfall at Bash Bish Falls in Mount Washington.

The body apparently became dislodged overnight by natural means from the crevice in which it had been trapped and was captured by netting placed in a pool below the crevice for just that eventuality.

The body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Holyoke for an examination on Sunday.

Body of New York Man Deemed Unrecoverable at Bash Bish Falls

EGREMONT, Mass. — First responders are unable to recover the body of a New York state man who fell at Bash Bish Falls on Friday night despite what authorities described as "heroic efforts."   Aiden Campion-Pratt, 21, of Ghent, apparently slipped off a rock and fell into the falls about 7:30 Friday night. Rescuers began searching for his body Friday evening and located him about 12:30 Sunday afternoon.   After 24 hours of effort, rescue personnel on the scene located the body by means of an underwater camera, but eventually came to the reluctant decision that because of the location retrieval would not be possible.   "Obviously
