Berkshire High School Athletes, Coaches Honored at Sports Caravan

Clarksburg OKs Warrant Articles, Passes $4.2M Budget

Town Clerk Carol Jammalo swears in officials elected on Tuesday.

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — Voters approved all 18 articles on the annual town warrant on Wednesday night, including a town budget of $1,434,771.80.

It took about an hour go work through the warrant but all articles passed unanimously or nearly so, with few comments.

The articles included a school budget of $2,448,000; a McCann Technical School assessment of $341,939; and several requiring two-thirds votes — $38,000 from stabilization to lower the tax rate, $26,500 from the Department of Public Works stabilization account to complete the roof replacement on the town garage approved

North Adams Council Accepts Bullett Resignation, Mulls Replacement

The City Council approved a classification plan and declaring an abandoned home a public nuisance. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — When City Councilor Nancy Bullett's letter of resignation came up at Tuesday's meeting, the immediate response was negative.    "No," said Councilor Keith Bona.    No, as in don't go. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket

Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket. Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.

The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
