The mayor said the city had begun planning for its removal if the owner could not address the problems.  NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — The Moderne Studio building is coming down brick by brick on Eagle Street on the city's dime.    Concerns over the failing structure's proximity to its neighbor — just a few feet — means the demolition underway is taking far longer than usual. Letter: Mass MoCA Strike
Letter to the Editor,
04:00PM / Wednesday, March 13, 2024

To the Editor:

On March 13, 2024, I had the opportunity to speak with the workers on strike at Mass MoCA. I spent several hours with them, listening to them, learning from them, and coming to understand them. It's unacceptable for dedicated employees to struggle to make ends meet while working at an institution as prominent as Mass MoCA. Negotiating for fair compensation is a fundamental
