BENNINGTON, Vt. — The old town garage slated for demolition three years ago has been transformed into a vibrant gathering place in the downtown. The Village Garage Distillery on Depot Street held its grand opening on Sunday with Lt. Gov. Molly Gray, who had visited the site while it was under construction last fall, cutting the ribbon. Danielle Luchi, elected in 2019, has been the town's MVP over the past six months or so. She was the lone Select Board member for weeks after both her colleagues quit last fall and found herself increasingly stepping into vacant positions to keep the town operating, including working in the treasurer's office. City Woman Wins Hometown Holidays Gift Basket |
Jonathan Secor had some help in pulling the winning ticket.
Congrats to Janet O'Neill of North Adams who won the big Hometown Holidays gift basket on Thursday. O'Neill won some $1,300 worth of gift certificates and merchandise.
The drawing could be entered by spending $50 downtown during the Thursday night Hometown Holiday events. Jonathan Secor of MCLA Gallery 51 said 62 people had entered the contest (including the editor of iBerkshires &mdash amazing how much cat toys cost nowadays).
